This is an excellent opportunity to get a one-of-a-kind custom El Camino for pennies on the dollar what it would cost to build it. Rounding out the interior are fresh black carpet, a tight headliner, 2-speed wipers, and an original owners manual. The door panels are black with grey accent fabric, have speakers added to them, and they contain the controls for power windows, locks and mirrors. The Grant 3-spoke chrome and the black steering wheel is connected to a tilt column backed by power steering. The HVAC system works just as it should and blows nice cold AC. Also in the dash are Dakota Digital Gauges arranged in the correct factory placement. The dash houses a Retrosound AM/FM Stereo hooked up to a Kenwood amp and sub that are operated by remote. The black dash with red accent stripes appears to have come from a Monte Carlo of the same generation and looks great. The center console is from a vintage Chevelle and features a horseshoe shifter from ShiftWorks that operates the 4-speed automatic as well as an armrest and storage box. Open the driver's door and slide into the incredibly comfortable black leather and suede TMI bucket seats to get a view of the mostly black interior. As you might expect, the interior has been updated just like the rest of the car. Equal attention was paid to the braking system with a new booster and reservoir backing up 4-wheel disc brakes with red-painted calipers and drilled & slotted rotors. The ride quality is far better than stock thanks to a Ride-Tech suspension kit featuring adjustable coil-overs with tubular upper and lower A-arms on the front and adjustable coil-overs, tubular control arms, and a sway-bar on the rear. Also in the tidy and organized engine bay is an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans, a PSC pro-touring power steering box, and headers. The engine is mated to a new 4L65E automatic 4-speed overdrive transmission and 10-bolt rear end that make this car an awesome long-distance cruiser with power on demand. The excitement continues when you lift the hood to reveal a brand-new LS3 crate engine with black Corvette top covers! At the front of the engine is a Billet front-runner pulley system – a nice upgrade. The chrome and black exterior look is simply stunning and says to anyone who sees it that this is sure not your average El Camino. Speaking of wheels, this El Camino sits atop eye-grabbing chrome Foose wheels wrapped with newer Sumitomo HTRZ II tires. Dual chrome exhaust tips poke out from behind the rear wheels. Beneath the tailgate is another gleaming bumper with integrated tail lights. The bed is topped with an absolutely beautiful custom tonneau cover with a chrome edge accent. The rear bed has a spray-on Raptor Liner that looks great and insures the longevity of the steel. Both doors are emblazoned with white “El Camino SS” logos and the rear tailgate sports an “SS” logo on the lower right side. The front end of the car features a cross-hatch grill flanked by quad rectangular headlights, a gleaming bumper, and a cowl hood. The body is laser-straight all the way down the long sides and the body gaps are incredibly consistent. As car lovers know, black paint is the most unforgiving to try to get right and this was obviously done by a talented professional. The black paint is very deep, glossy, and of show quality. We've seen many El Camino's roll through our doors over the years but we have never seen one built to this level of quality! This build was done in 2017-18 at a cost $125K and it still looks as fresh as the day it was completed. Cruisin Classics is proud to present this gorgeous black 1985 Chevrolet El Camino. ![]()
